The opening weekend of Valentino: Master of Couture at Somerset House in London was rather special. With Time Out London hailing it as the “biggest fashion exhibition of the decade” showcases over 130 couture gowns.

Valentino Garavani (along with his business partner Giancarlo Giammetti) has dressed some of the most iconic women since starting his career in the late 1950’s; from Grace Kelly to Elizabeth Taylor.

The iconic refinement and detailing synonymous with Valentino features strongly, encompassing love and passion at the heart of the Master of Couture’s vision.

The exhibition offers a rare glimpse into the world of fairy tales, fantasy and femininity which collide in a creative explosion. The audience is reserved an even rarer position from which to view the splendour; spectator & participant. And as with all great couture shows climaxes with a bridal gown to leave you in awe.

Simply put this exhibition should not be missed…it is simply exquisite.
